Applications for the 2026 award cycle are open. Deadline: November 15, 2026.

Program overview

$1,000 to fund original AzCEP-member research

  • Open to AzCEP resident, fellow, and medical student members, with their mentoring attending (faculty sponsor) named on the application.
  • A letter of support (PDF) is required: from the residency/fellowship program director for residents and fellows, or the faculty advisor for medical students.
  • CVs for all involved researchers are required (PDF).
  • Original research, QI, education research, or case series are all eligible.
  • IRB must be in motion before funding is released (approved, submitted, or pending).
  • Deliverable expectations: a poster at the next AzCEP Annual Research Symposium, a brief progress report at one year, and a peer-reviewed publication (AzCEP support acknowledged).
  • Review committee meets in December; awards announced late January.

All research conducted under this grant will be conducted with the utmost ethical consideration and under the approval of my institution's Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the ethical conduct of research. My residency training program / medical school will assume full liability for the activities conducted in this research and releases AzCEP (Arizona College of Emergency Physicians) from any liability whatsoever arising from the conduct of this research.
